Demand for 3D Laser Scanning becoming a key requirement

Demand for 3d Laser Scanning is certainly becoming a key requirement of many clients. The dedicated team have been working on numerous projects covering the South, London and extending as far as Manchester.

  • A large measured building survey at Avery Hill Campus for University of Greenwich, which included over 300 scans, has kept the drafting team busy. Utilising high resolution photography to enhance the scan data has enabled additional visual information to be delivered.
  • Generating accurate 3d models has also been a major growth area. A number of projects within the steel fabrication field as well as the architectural field have been keeping our in-house modellers busy.

Sinkholes

  • We have recently been involved in movement monitoring of a terrace of properties in Leeds Village, Kent. A large hole appeared in the main road last November and since December we have been monitoring the properties at weekly intervals.

Staffing

  • Due to an upturn in work we are pleased to welcome a new member of staff Sam Evans who recently joined our team of surveyors and a warm welcome back to Kirk Bennett who left for a short time and has now returned.
  • Over the last few years we have employed industrial placement students from Nottingham Trent University. This has proved very successful for both students and our firm. Tim Jones will be leaving in July and we are currently interviewing for a replacement.
  • We are currently advertising for a Trainee Land Surveyor to assist our survey teams.
  • We are sad to announce that Merie Harmer who has worked with us for 24 years is leaving. She will be greatly missed but we wish her well for a happy and relaxing retirement.
