Costain Annual Surveyors Conference

John White and Rob Williams attended the conference in Daventry. It was an interesting day and Rob gave a presentation on the work of J C White Geomatics at London Bridge Station, with particular reference to Laser Scanning and how it dove-tails with BIM on the project. This was very well received.

Laser Scanning to Model

Laser Scanning

The production of as-built 3d models have been found extremely useful within the Power Utilities field. New infrastructure and cabling can be designed and accurately positioned within the model prior to installation, eliminating on-site delays and problems.

The raw survey data can be captured within a couple of hours by laser scanner and modelled to the client’s required accuracies. Panoramic imagery from the scanning is also supplied along with the model to deliver a complete package of information for the client.
